چکیده

In recent decades, the Sichuan Basin (SCB) has suffered from severe aerosol pollution. Based on long-term (2003–2018) optical properties dataset derived Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), this study investigated spatial distribution and interannual variation of depth (AOD) fine-mode fraction (FMF) as well type at city-level in SCB. The AOD exhibited a decreasing trend centre SCB to surrounding areas with high approximately 1.0. FMF value was 0.9 southern areas. frequency occurrence < 0.2 30%–40%. negative −0.03/year showed significant positive 0.01–0.02/year. proportion continental background aerosols higher BB/UI (biomass burning/urban-industrial) central urban area increased significantly 50%. Mix were mainly distributed north, accounting for 35%–45%. A large dust (30%–35%) noted east results are great scientific significance analysis extinction city level China. • decreased center surrounding, while changed opposite decrease 0.4, 0.7 during 2003 2018 Identification based data

Study of Aerosol Optical Properties Based on Ground Measurements over Sichuan Basin, China

The characteristics of aerosol optical depth (AOD) and Ångström exponent as well as the relationship between the AOD and particulate matter (PM10), were measured and analyzed at the Chengdu station over the Sichuan Basin in China from February 2007 to December 2009. High monthly AODs were observed in March, August and December, while a low value was observed in October. Monthly variations in Ån...

Seasonal variations in aerosol optical properties over China

[1] Seasonal variations in background aerosol optical depth (AOD) and aerosol type are investigated over various ecosystems in China based upon three years’ worth of meteorological data and data collected by the Chinese Sun Hazemeter Network. In most parts of China, AODs are at a maximum in spring or summer and at a minimum in autumn or winter. Minimum values (0.10∼0.20) of annual mean AOD at 5...

Aerosol physical and optical properties in the Eastern Mediterranean Basin, Crete, from Aerosol Robotic Network data

In this study, we investigate the aerosol optical properties, namely aerosol extinction optical thickness (AOT), Angström parameter and size distribution over the Eastern Mediterranean Basin, using spectral measurements from the recently established FORTH (Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas) AERONET station in Crete, for the two-year period 2003–2004. The location of the FORTH-AERONE...

A long-term record of aerosol optical depth from TOMS observations and comparison to AERONET measurements

Observations of backscattered near-ultraviolet radiation from the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) on board the Nimbus-7 (1979–92) and the Earth Probe (mid-1996 to present) satellites have been used to derive a long-term record of aerosol optical depth over oceans and continents. The retrieval technique applied to the TOMS data makes use of two unique advantages of near-UV remote sensing...
